Sean Colaco is Co-founder and Creative Head with Utopeia Advertising. Prior to this, Sean was the co-founder and Creative Director of CAC Advertising which later merged with Utopeia Advertising. Over a career spanning 20 years, Sean has worked for agencies like Karishma Advertising (a sister concern of Lowe) and Grey Worldwide. As creative Director, he has led teams at Saatchi and Saatchi, Mudra DDB and TBWA.
Over the course of his career, Sean has worked across categories and helped build a number of brands like Ambuja Cement, Woodland Shoes and Apparel, Mauritius Tourism, MTDC (Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation), SOTC (one of India’s largest travel agencies), Air India, Ariel, BPCL (Bharat Petroleum), General Mills, Bajaj Allianz Insurance, Nivea, Godrej, Reliance Group, Standard Chartered Bank, Standard Chartered AMC and many more.
Sean has received finalist certificates and won numerous awards at both national and international award shows. These include, A&M Awards, Ad Club Awards (ABBY’S), AAAI (Advertising Agencies Association of India), New York Festivals, Ad Fest, One Show, Cannes and Clio. His work has also featured in the Archive, D&AD Exhibition, Campaign Brief and The Indian Showcase of Advertising. He has been ranked by Campaign Brief Asia (issue# 26, 2005) as one of the top 30 creative directors in Asia. Also ranked by Campaign Brief Asia (issue #31) as among the ‘hottest creatives in India’.
Sean lives in Mumbai with his wife and two children. He is an avid traveler, first-day-first-show movie buff and weekend chef.
